Job summary

The Invensys Family Branch of the Hockomock Area YMCA is seeking an Assistant Aquatics Director to oversee daily operations of aquatics programs and facilities. You will work closely with the Aquatics Director to support lifeguards, swim instructors, and staff, ensuring safety, organization, and community-focused outcomes.

This role suits an experienced aquatics professional who enjoys team leadership, relationship-building, and making a difference through the YMCA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• Experience in aquatics management, preferably within a YMCA.
• Prior experience as lifeguard and/or swim instructor.
• Strong relationship-building and supervisory skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Some budget-management experience.
• Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
• Must maintain current YMCA Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Swim Trainer, First Aid and CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of aquatics programs and facilities.
• Support lifeguards, swim instructors, and aquatics staff.
• Ensure pools and programs are safe, well-organized, and meet community needs.
• Collaborate with Aquatics Director on priorities and training.
