Job summary

Central York School District is seeking dedicated Lifeguards to support the aquatics program at Central York High School in York, PA. The role focuses on ensuring the safety of facility patrons, enforcing pool rules, and responding to emergencies with a daily 30-second safety scan.

Minimum age is 15 with American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid/CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Background checks must be completed within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Certified Lifeguard with American Red Cross Training.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Must obtain/maintain PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Background Checks within 12 months.
• Competitive pay - $13.50 per hour.
• Flexible scheduling to accommodate school commitments.
• Promote water safety and positive experiences for pool patrons.

Responsibilities

• Enforce all facility policies, rules, and regulations.
• Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies. Thirty second scan mandatory.
• Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and report unsafe conditions and equipment to supervisor.
• Complete appropriate records and reports.
• Attend and participate in all in-service training as a requirement of employment.
• Responsible for work hours; obtain a substitute when unable to work.
• Wear only issued uniform and maintain a professional appearance.
• Keep all certifications current.
• Complete 500 yards every 2 weeks.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
