Job summary

Central York School District is seeking dedicated swim instructors to provide safe, engaging lessons at the high school pool for students and community members.

Instruct, supervise, and test participants, enforce policies, and plan lessons with enthusiasm. The role offers flexible scheduling to work around school and community commitments, with competitive hourly pay and a focus on water safety and student progress.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Willing to obtain CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
• WSI certification preferred.
• Clearances (FBI/Act 34/Act 151) within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, supervise, and test swim lesson participants according to the set standards.
• Enforce facility policies, rules, and regulations.
• Instruct students using skill progression and engaging activities.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for student progress.
• Instruct students in safe water practices during class.
• Plan lesson outlines and organize class.
• Communicate at student level with motivational techniques.
• Attend and participate in all in-service training as required.
• Complete 200 yards every 2 weeks.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualificiations:

• Must be at least 15 years of age
• American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer (or willing to obtain)
• Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certified preferred
• Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid FBI, Act 34 & Act 151 clearances within the last twelve (12) months.
• Competitive pay - $12.50 per hour.
