Job summary

Central York School District seeks dedicated Lifeguards to support the aquatics program and ensure a safe, well-supervised environment for all pool patrons at Central York High School, York, PA. Responsibilities include enforcing policies, emergency response, daily safety inspections, and maintaining records.

Candidates must be at least 15 years old with Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid/CPR for professionals, plus up-to-date background checks.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Training.
• American Red Cross First Aid & CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
• Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background Checks within the last twelve months.

Responsibilities

• Enforce all facility policies, rules, and regulations.
• Recognize and responds effectively to emergencies. Thirty second scan mandatory.
• Inspect the facility on a daily schedule and reports unsafe conditions and equipment to supervisor.
• Complete appropriate records and reports.
• Attend and participates in all in-service training as a requirement of employment.
• Responsible for work hours. Must obtain a substitute when unable to work.
• Wear only issued uniform and maintain a professional appearance.
• Keep all certifications current.
• Complete 500 yards every 2 weeks.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
