Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED plus 4 years of relevant professional experience, or Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Licenses/Certifications: DC Certified Pool Operator (within first 90 days); Lifeguarding with CPR/AED/First Aid from American Red Cross or equivalent (within first 90 days).
• Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree and experience in college-level recreational sports program; experience in aquatic facility administration, event coordination, personnel administration and/or managing recreation programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage and hire 10-15 lifeguards and 10 event staff and 2 maintenance techs.
• Coordinate pool usage for club and intramural activities at Smith Center.
• Schedule all areas of the facility for programming, practices, competitions and events.
• Liaise with pool vendors; maintain equipment and conduct inspections.
• Ensure safety and incident reporting; manage on-site emergency responses.
