Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an Aquatics Director to lead pool operations, program development, and member engagement at our Westampton Township location. You will build high-quality aquatics programs, supervise staff, ensure safety, and foster a diverse, inclusive culture.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with experience in fitness or recreation, plus readiness to obtain lifeguard and swim lesson instructor certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience in fitness, retail, recreation management or hospitality industries.
• Experience supervising and managing preferred.
• Experience providing high-end member service and managing member concerns.
• Upon hire, pursue American Red Cross Lifeguard certification as well as YMCA swim lesson instructor certification.

Responsibilities

• Understand branch revenue and program goals; plan daily workload to deliver department goals.
• Create an environment where teams love to work and members enjoy visiting.
• Promote diversity, inclusion, global engagement and cultural competence.
• Work a schedule aligning with guest and business needs (early mornings, evenings, weekends).
• Ensure swimming facility meets or exceeds Aquatic Safety Standards.
• Develop high-quality aquatics programs including swim lessons and water fitness.
