Job summary

Greater Philadelphia YMCA is hiring an Aquatic Supervisor to lead the aquatic department, ensure training and safety, and enhance programs for members. Candidates should bring strong leadership and a passion for member service to support a thriving YMCA and its community initiatives.

You will work with lifeguards, swim instructors, and staff to maintain high safety and quality standards while engaging with members and volunteers in a community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a related field
• Current ARC Lifeguard/Water Park, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer, First Aid or Administering Emergency Oxygen
• Exhibit strong leadership skills; passion for member service and a culture of service excellence
• Acquire and maintain required certifications

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in the delivery of quality within the YMCA aquatic department
• Ensure lifeguards and swim instructors are trained and deliver programs meeting member needs and YMCA standards
• Monitor all aquatic programs and staff for safety, quality and member service
• Develop relationships with members and obtain regular feedback on programs
• Provide program enhancements to meet member needs per Association guidelines
• Supervise staff and ensure appropriate staffing of pool and programs
• Ensure safety and cleanliness in pool area, locker rooms and adjoining locations
• Complete weekly maintenance checklist and pool logs
• Ensure pool staffing complies with YMCA standards before maintenance
• Conduct lifeguard and safety audits daily
• Perform pool maintenance tasks per OSHA guidelines
• Serve as a branch management team member and Leader on Duty
• Campaign for Annual Campaign and develop donors/volunteers
• Provide excellent service and communicate poolRules to members
