The Alexandria Area YMCA is seeking an Aquatics Director to lead the day-to-day operations of the aquatics department, overseeing programming, safety, staff, and facility operations. You will build community relations and create safe, high-quality programs for all ages.

The role requires leadership experience, lifeguard and WSI certifications, and at least 1 year in aquatics. This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive salary and benefits package in Alexandria, MN.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Current National Lifeguarding Certification or completion within 60 days of hire.
• Current WSI Certification or completion within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year aquatics-related field experience, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Lead, implement, and manage high-quality aquatic programs meeting community needs and YMCA standards.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate aquatics staff, ensuring certifications are current.
• Assist in development and management of the department budget.
• Oversee safety documentation and drills; participate in the Safety Committee.
• Provide lifeguard and swim instructor coverage as needed to maintain pool coverage.
