Job summary

Midtown Athletic Clubs is seeking an Aquatics Coach for our weekend program, delivering guidance to members of all ages. The role involves leading aquatics activities, promoting safety, delivering private lessons, and collaborating with the aquatics team to create a welcoming environment.

The position requires a competitive swimming background or coaching experience, current lifeguard and WSI (ARC preferred) certifications, and the ability to provide multisensory instruction.

Qualifications

• Competitive swimming background or coaching experience.
• Lifeguard certification (or equivalent).
• Water Safety Instructor certification preferred.
• Ability to provide multisensory instruction (auditory, visual, tactile, kinesthetic).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrating sound leadership, professionalism, resilience, and optimism
• Developing and maintaining aquatics areas to promote an enjoyable experience
• Developing, delivering, and measuring our aquatics programs
• Promoting and providing private lessons

Our Aquatics Coaches

• Have competitive swimming background or competitive swim coach experience
• Possess current lifeguard and water safety instructor certifications (American Red Cross preferred)
• Possess ability to provide multisensory instruction: auditory, visual, tactile, kinesthetic
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver information clearly, concisely, and timely
