An established community center is seeking a dedicated Aquatics Attendant to ensure the safety and enjoyment of patrons in the aquatic facility. In this role, you will monitor access, enforce rules, and provide information to guests, all while fostering a positive and safe environment. Position: Kroc Aquatics Attendant (KAA)
Location/Dept.: Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, Philadelphia PA
Availability: Immediate
Schedule: 2 Part Time (up to 19 hours per week) positions available - Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as will be required in performance of duties or as requested to support the ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.
Reporting Relationship: Aquatics Manager (AM), Aquatics Supervisor (AS)
Salary: $14.08 per hour
Status: Non-exempt

Under the direction and supervision of the Aquatics Manager, the Aquatics Attendant monitors access to the aquatic’s facility, maintains a log of patrons, enforces aquatic department rules, including but not limited to assuring that minors are properly accompanied by guardians and that only those eligible use the facility. The KAA takes a lead role in addressing violations to department policies in a respectful, professional manner and promptly reports issues, concerns, and questions to his/her direct supervisor for appropriate follow-up action. He/she will also take an active role in providing a wide variety of program and facility information to Kroc members and guests, as requested. Be proactive in addressing rules and violations through prompt, respectful communication with those entering the pool area, including (but not limited to) proper swim attire, proper supervision of minors, proper use of pools and pool equipment. When necessary, be proactive in seeking assistance from direct supervisors and/or other center leadership to resolve member/guest issues. Practice clear, concise communication with members, visitors, staff, volunteers, and program participants, as related to department rules designed to assure that users are safe at all times. Actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions, as requested. Actively assist in maintaining a safe and positive exercise environment in the center’s water park and competitive swimming areas. Demonstrate knowledge and practical application of the Center’s safety and emergency procedures. Able to share knowledge of programs and services offered by all areas of the center, as requested by members and guests. Perform other duties, as assigned, to assure the success of the center.
High school diploma or GED or enrolled in a program designed to result in such achievement required.
Current CPR/AED required.
Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills required.
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Must have the ability to work and relate well with people. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
