Job summary

Carowinds is seeking an Area Manager of Aquatics to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Carolina Harbor attractions. You will assist in hiring, leading, and managing talent daily, working with divisional managers on tasks and projects, and supporting other departments.

You’ll oversee aquatic operations, staffing, safety, and compliance, while coaching and developing seasonal staff and coordinating with multiple park teams. This role is based in Charlotte, NC and requires flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related experience in a theme park or water park operation.
• Eligibility to obtain Lifeguard Training Program Instructor license.
• Ability to perform CPR and Basic First Aid with current certification.
• HS Diploma or GED, college degree preferred.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to pass background and drug tests per policy.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operations of all Carolina Harbor water attractions and serves as duty Manager for Aquatics.
• Manages setup, winterization, staffing levels, guest service, and safety.
• Communicates concerns to Directors and other departments as appropriate.
• Ensures SOP adherence during downtime or emergencies and coordinates evacuations if needed.
• Leads selection, training, scheduling, and supervision of seasonal Aquatics staff.
• Reads, writes, and reviews SOP manuals and ensures labor law compliance.
• Manages department budgets and procurement of aquatics supplies.
• Responds to guest feedback and maintains quality of park services.
