Job summary

Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children in Pittsburgh is seeking an Aquatic Physical Therapy Aide to support the Physical Therapy team with safe, effective aquatic services for students with complex needs.

The role involves assisting therapists during sessions, helping with positioning, transfers, showering and dressing, and maintaining a clean therapy environment, while also supporting transportation, scheduling, and equipment projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Rehab experience preferred but not required.
• Lifeguard certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists during treatment sessions with students in the water and outside of the pool.
• Maintain a clean work environment and sanitize equipment after student use.
• Position, transfer, shower, and dress students as needed before and after aquatic therapy sessions.
• Provide necessary documentation for attendance and programming; assist with scheduling.
• Assist students daily during transportation in the morning and afternoon.
• Order supplies and equipment when needed.
• Assist Rehab Tech with equipment projects and deliveries; build, clean and repair rehab equipment as needed.
