Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children in Pittsburgh is seeking an Aquatic Physical Therapy Aide to support the Physical Therapy team with safe, effective aquatic services for students with complex needs.
The role involves assisting therapists during sessions, helping with positioning, transfers, showering and dressing, and maintaining a clean therapy environment, while also supporting transportation, scheduling, and equipment projects.

Located in the heart of Oakland, Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children is a one-of-a-kind educational experience committed to empowering our students to realize their full potential. The School also provides vital early intervention and outreach services to visually impaired students, with or without additional challenges, throughout western Pennsylvania. Founded in 1887, our School is best equipped to care for and educate students with visual impairments. As a private institution chartered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the School educates approximately 200 enrolled students from 80-85 school districts within western Pennsylvania.
The Aquatic Physical Therapy Aide supports the Physical Therapy team in providing safe, effective aquatic therapy services to students with complex needs. The role assists therapists during treatment sessions, including helping with student positioning, transfers, showering, and dressing before and after pool activities, while also maintaining a clean and sanitized therapy environment. The aide also supports student transportation, attendance and program documentation, scheduling, supply ordering, and rehabilitation equipment projects, including building, cleaning, and repairing equipment as needed.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Working Schedule: 187 days per year; Monday through Friday from 7:30a-3:30p.
Compensation: to be determined based on education, experience, and certifications.
