Job summary

The Red Bank YMCA is seeking energetic Aquatics Group Fitness Instructors to lead water-based classes, motivate participants, ensure safety, and deliver engaging workouts in a supportive environment.

The role requires current Aquatics Group Fitness Certification (AEA/YMCA or equivalent), First Aid and CPR/AED certification within 90 days, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead classes for diverse participants. Part-time, day shift, in Red Bank, NJ.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Current Aquatics Group Fitness Certification (AEA/YMCA or equivalent).
• First Aid and CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire date.
• Ability to lead group exercise classes to a diverse group of participants.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The YMCA provides orientation and training as part of onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Lead group fitness classes in the pool, including water aerobics and aquatic strength training.
• Monitor participants' safety and provide guidance throughout each session.
• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
• Ensure equipment is set up and maintained for each class.

This position is for the Red Bank YMCA. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

We are seeking passionate and energetic Aquatics Group Fitness Instructors to lead water-based fitness classes. Instructors will motivate participants, ensure safety, and deliver fun, engaging workouts in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead group fitness classes in the pool, including but not limited to water aerobics and aquatic strength training.


• Monitor participants' safety and provide guidance throughout each session.


• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Must be at least age 18 years


• Current Aquatics Group Fitness Certification (e.g., AEA, YMCA, or equivalent).


• Previous teaching experience preferred but not required.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to communicate and lead group exercise classes to a diverse group of participants


• First Aid, CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire date

• Blood borne Pathogen Online Training


• Notify Healthy Living Director within 60 days before First Aid, CPR/AED expiration date. The YMCA provides First Aid, CPR/AED recertification classes.
