Job summary

YMCA of Montclair in Montclair, NJ is seeking a Water Group Exercise Instructor to lead safe, engaging aquatic fitness classes for members and program participants in the evenings and weekends.

Requirements include CPR/AED and First Aid, YMCA Group Exercise Instructor certification or equivalent, strong communication, and the ability to adapt routines for all fitness levels; benefits include YMCA membership and PTO after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must have CPR/AED and First Aid certification or obtain within 90 days of employment.
• YMCA Group Exercise Instructor certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 18 years of age and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Instruct safe and engaging water fitness classes for participants of all levels.
• Be prepared to teach in the water and on deck with varied equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to water fitness.
• Maintain attendance records and stay updated on program trends.
• Notify supervisor and arrange coverage for classes when needed.
