Job summary

ADAM'S SPECIALTY PRODUCTS, LLC is seeking an entry-level part-time Service Technician to service aquariums and aviaries in nursing homes and assisted living facilities around Rockford, IL. The role requires basic hand-tool knowledge, physical work, and ability to travel.

You'll work about 4 hours per week (15–20 hours/month), with flexible hours between 8am and 7pm. Mileage is reimbursed; driving time is not paid. A valid driver's license and English literacy are required.

Qualifications

Our customers look to us to create a very serene and engaging environment for their residents/customers to enjoy. This particular role will primarily be servicing aquariums and aviaries in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. This is an entry level position that requires basic knowledge of hand tools and assembly. Heavy lifting, bending, and many physical demands are involved in the position. This is an part-time position. Work is typically done during business hours of 8am to 7pm but is flexible.

Hours will vary from month to month but will average around 4 hours per week or 15-20 hours a month.

This territory is mainly aviaries with only one aquarium.

• Travel in a 150 mile radius of Rockford, IL will be required. Current furthest account is around 50 miles from Rockford.

(Mileage reimbursement is paid while driving. Hourly Wage is not paid during driving)

• Due to work being performed in long term care homes, masking/goggles may be required.

Storing 50# bags of bedding and seed along with 4-5 27 gallon totes of supplies will be required for the job.

Required education, skills, abilities, and experience

• Experience in fish keeping and or bird keeping preferred

• Ability to successfully communicate and contribute in a team oriented environment.
• Must have the ability to comprehend and follow instructions and to read and write in English.
• Preference given to candidates with mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to be flexible with schedule and job responsibilities.
• Able to travel in your service area radius
• Heavy lifting and maneuvering is required.
• Flexibility is a must!
• High School education is preferred.
• Driver’s License required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 hours per week or 15-20 hours a month. Will vary some from week to week.
