York Container seeks a motivated Press Helper to assist in setup and operation of the press, focusing on minimizing downtime and ensuring quality output. You will manage scrap, assist with packaging, and help with safety procedures while supporting the operator to meet production goals.

The role requires a sense of urgency, reliability, and the ability to follow safety policies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Training and growth opportunities are provided, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years’ corrugated experience or related manufacturing industry preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist the operator and setup in running of the press.
• Aim to limit downtime and improve setup times.
• Deliver scrap waste to the designated area and tag for waste reporting.
• Collect top and bottom sheets (dunnage) to speed the converting process.
• Pack products for shipment as specified for orders.
• Follow lock out/tag out procedures and safety guidelines.
• Read production orders and ensure quality during runs.
• Understand machine mechanics and assist with cleaning when scheduled.
• Run press when operator is unavailable and work overtime as needed.

The employee is also expected to perform such other duties and functions as required and assigned from time to time.Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED preferredA minimum of 2 years’ corrugated experience or related manufacturing industry preferredMachines/Tools/Equipment:Tape measurer, computers (for reporting purposes), print and cutting dies, machine related devices (both computerized and manual mechanical devices), box cutters, and substrate (corrugated stock)Safety:Employees are expected to follow all facility safety guidelines that include adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Food Safety as outlined during their training. Some machine centers REQUIRE Hand and Arm Protection to increase safety and minimize the opportunity for contamination. Company issued gloves and sleeves will be issued if determined necessaryWorking Conditions:Manufacturing environment - not temperature controlled - hot in summer and cold in winter (will need to dress appropriately). No jewelry or baggy clothes due to safety.
