Job summary

York Container is seeking a self‑driven CDL‑A Driver to join our production teams. The role supports machine setup and operation, emphasizing time efficiency and quality in corrugated packaging production.

You will help manage scrap and packing for orders, while following lockout/tagout safety procedures. The position requires a strong safety mindset, reliable attendance, and the ability to communicate effectively with co‑workers in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ corrugated experience or related manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to work in a safety‑focused manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist setup and running of machine with focus on time saving to limit downtime.
• Deliver scrap waste to proper dept and tag for waste reporting.
• Pack products for shipment as specified for orders.
• Learn and practice lock out/tag out procedures and safety.
• Read and understand production orders and assist with quality checks.
• Understand machine mechanics and perform in-depth cleaning when scheduled.
• Run press in operator's absence and work overtime as needed.

Ensure a quality product is being released to our customersEssential Job Functions:Must possess sense of urgency in fast-paced environment, while working safelyLimit scrap waste,Deliver scrap waste to proper dept when scrap truck is full, and accurately tag for waste reportingCollect top and bottom sheets (dunnage) to expedite converting processPack products for shipment as specified for individual ordersLearn and practice good lock out/ tag out proceduresFollow reporting processes for accurate completion of production paperwork and CTI/HRMSHang print plates, mount die boards and handle inkRead and understand production order copy for every production run, and assist operator in ensuring quality (includes basic corrugated terminology)Understand machine mechanical functionality, and conduct in depth cleaning of press when scheduledOther Functions:Run press in case of operator unavailabilityWork overtime as production needs requireIn addition to the functions listed above, the employee is expected to: exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients and co-workers, maintain an acceptable appearance and demeanor, demonstrate a positive attitude, dependability, reliability, self sufficiency, communicate effectively with co-workers. Some machine centers REQUIRE Hand and Arm Protection to increase safety and minimize the opportunity for contamination. Company issued gloves and sleeves will be issued if determined necessaryWorking Conditions:Manufacturing environment - not temperature controlled - hot in summer and cold in winter (will need to dress appropriately). No jewelry or baggy clothes due to safety.
