Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services seeks an APS Complex Case Coordinator to provide statewide oversight and coordinate complex case activities. The role supervises the APS Complex Case Unit and collaborates with the Office of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (OIDD) and the Office of Mental Health (OMH) to ensure adults receive timely and appropriate services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional experience in social services or related fields.
• Master’s degree and one (1) year of professional experience in social services or related fields.
• APS Experience Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee statewide APS complex case activities and supervise the APS Complex Case Unit.
• Coordinate with OIDD and OMH to ensure access to necessary services for adults to live independently.
• Collaborate with county APS offices and state office staff; carry caseload as needed.
• Prepare written summaries on cases beyond standard service duration; identify barriers to closing cases.
• Monitor Case Reviews, summarize trends, and communicate recommendations to management.
• Provide regional coverage and explore long-term solutions as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
