Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking an APS Case Manager for Adult Protective Services in Berkeley County. You will assess risk, plan protective interventions, and coordinate services to protect vulnerable adults while upholding client self-determination.

You will manage caseloads, collaborate with law enforcement, courts, and providers, and support emergency response efforts. A degree in social sciences is required, with a preferred master's degree for select roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science.
• Bachelor's Degree in any other field and one year experience in a related field.
• Master's Degree may be preferred for select positions.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional case management services for vulnerable adults per DSS policy and APS ComPASS Model.
• Manages an assigned caseload, conducts risk assessments, and coordinates services to ensure client safety.
• Develops and coordinates service plans with clients to promote safety and stability; coordinates placements and supports.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science

Bachelor's Degree in any other field + 1 year experience

Master's Degree (preferred)
