Job summary

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking an Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2 in Cleveland, GA. You will investigate reports, assess risk, coordinate protective services, and collaborate with agencies to safeguard vulnerable adults and elders. Telework options may apply depending on position.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; preferred background in family violence or crisis intervention. A valid driver's license is required for some assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or one year of experience in APS CM 1 or equivalent.
• Preferred: experience with family violence, crisis intervention, substance abuse, elderly or disabled services.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for field work.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial investigations of protective service reports for APS criteria and determines appropriate intervention.
• Evaluates risk to clients and takes action to ensure safety.
• Provides follow-up, consultations and resources to stabilize situations.
• Initiates guardianship when necessary for incapacitated adults.
• Maintains documentation and reports to standards; stays updated on policies and laws.
