• Master's degree in nursing or higher and Texas APRN authorization required.
• Documentation of completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program.
• Prescriptive authority as per Texas Board of Nursing.
• Competence to provide and coordinate advanced patient care in sickle cell population.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis.
• Develops and evaluates patient plans of care with multidisciplinary team.
• Orders and interprets labs and imaging relevant to sickle cell care.
• Provides counseling and education to patients and families.
