Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks an Advanced Practice Nurse to promote and maintain patient care within a multidisciplinary team. This role requires an APRN with Texas BON authorization and prescriptive authority, plus life support certifications as per policy.

The candidate will provide comprehensive care, collaborate on patient plans, and participate in quality improvement and research activities within UT Southwestern’s renowned clinical programs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing required.
• Graduate education with Texas BON authorization must align with clinical practice area.
• APRN licensure by Texas State Board of Nursing required upon hire.
• Prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire and Life Support certification per UT Southwestern policy.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis.
• Synthesizes data to develop and evaluate patient care plan; orders/interprets labs and imaging.
• Demonstrates proficiency in technical/procedural skills as appropriate to specialty.
• Provides management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients and families.
• Facilitates quality initiatives through teams and staff meetings to improve clinical practice.
• Collaborates in research projects and protocols; applies evidence-based practices to care.
