Summary of Job Duties: Work Hours: Works fourteen 12-hour shifts per month, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The APRN/PA is a skilled healthcare provider with specialized certification, assessing, diagnosing, and treating pediatric patients and their families, serving as a clinical resource across the care continuum.

Qualifications:

APRN:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least a Master’s in Nursing.
• National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, with Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification preferred.

PA:

• Graduate from an accredited physician assistant program defined by the Arkansas State Medical Board.
• Current Arkansas Physician Assistant license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct clinical services per protocols and evidence-based standards in collaboration with a physician.
• Obtain patient histories, conduct physical exams, interpret hemodynamic data.
• Document findings, order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic illnesses.
• Document in medical records appropriately.
• Provide family-centered care.
• Utilize current research and evidence-based decision-making.
• Participate in staff education and educate students, residents, and fellows.
• Provide leadership and professional interaction within the team.
• Coordinate care with families via in-person, phone, or email communication.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully.
• Adhere to policies and procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement or research projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
