Summary of Job Duties: The APRN/PA will extend the patient care and administrative services for the UAMS Women and Infants Service Line (WISL) physicians in the outpatient settings. They will provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, perform procedures, and prescribe medicines and treatments. They will manage health issues for patients, independently or in collaboration with physicians, serve as healthcare resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate, and coordinate multidisciplinary care to ensure timely and appropriate care.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Two (2) years nursing experience
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas; APRN/CPN License, or PA with State Medical Board
  • Current BLS certification or must obtain within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to operate typical nursing equipment (scales, procedure equipment, needles, blood pressure equipment, EKG machines)
  • Normal communication sensory requirement
  • Ability to comply with CDC Universal Precautions when indicated

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in endocrine or women’s health nursing
  • Prescriptive authority and DEA license to be obtained post-hire

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum care, assessments, and management of complications
  • Collaborate with maternal-fetal medicine specialists for conditions like diabetes, hypertension, placental abnormalities
  • Support labor, assist deliveries, respond to obstetric emergencies
  • Conduct newborn assessments, manage neonatal conditions, collaborate with NICU
  • Educate families on breastfeeding, safe sleep, infant care, postpartum mental health
  • Engage in telehealth to extend care to underserved populations
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, lactation consultants, social workers
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities
  • Deliver care via mobile health units and community outreach
  • Contribute to clinical research and educate students and professionals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $99,500-$134,100
