Job summary

MACNY seeks a Workforce Development Specialist in training to support MTI programs and expand pre-apprenticeship pathways for manufacturing careers. The role focuses on participant preparation, employer collaboration, and program growth.

You will assist with recruitment, career readiness, and data tracking while partnering with educators, sponsors, and workforce partners to strengthen the regional talent pipeline.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Six months minimum experience with employers, students, job seekers, community partners, education providers, or workforce development programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support recruitment screening and interviews for pre-apprenticeship programs.
• Coordinate with education partners, workforce development partners, community organizations, and employers to support program delivery.
• Provide resume development, interview preparation, workplace readiness, and job search assistance.
• Assist with participant retention by identifying barriers and maintaining regular communication.
• Assist with participant placement into employment, apprenticeship pathways, or other next-step opportunities.
