Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Workforce Development Specialist II to coordinate outreach and partnerships with schools and technical programs, connecting pre-apprentices to Mortenson’s Apprenticeship Program. The role acts as a liaison ensuring alignment with curricula and smooth entry into Mortenson and the Apprenticeship Program.

The position involves representing the company at conferences and events to promote workforce initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR, IR, public administration, education, or related field.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
• Construction industry knowledge preferred.
• Exposure to NCCER curriculum preferred.
• Classroom training facilitation experience preferred.
• Current driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outreach to pre-apprenticeship programs and partner organizations.
• Build relationships with high schools, trade schools, and technical groups.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and leaders to forecast hiring needs for project sites.
• Gather market information on hiring trends and workforce needs across states/regions.
• Represent Mortenson at conferences, career fairs, and outreach events.
