Job summary

The College of DuPage is seeking an Employer Outreach Coordinator (FT) to actively integrate employers into the Department of Labor registered apprenticeship program and cultivate strong relationships across industries in the Chicago area.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 3–5 years in related fields, and strong organizational and communication skills. Occasional travel, events, and collaboration with multiple departments are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of education and experience required.
• Three to five (3-5) years of experience in sales, workforce development, operations management, recruitment, or related field.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail.
• Excellent relationship building and client-facing skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively influence at multiple levels.
• Demonstrable skills in public speaking/delivering presentations.
• Must be self-directed and work well independently as well as part of a team.
• Experience working in a collaborative manner with diverse constituencies.
• Familiarity with industry sectors including manufacturing, IT or healthcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the integration of current employers into the Department of Labor registered apprenticeship program, while onboarding new employers across various industries.
• Guide employers through onboarding processes and nurture ongoing relationships to sustain program growth.
• Meet with external partners and COD departments to identify, develop and secure apprenticeship opportunities with area employers.
• Represent Work Based Learning and College of DuPage at events to disperse apprenticeship information and opportunities.
• Connect with in-district businesses to assess industry needs for apprenticeship participation.
• Maintain and update employer database on an ongoing basis.
• Coordinate with the apprentice case manager to align employer requirements with progress.
