Placements24 is seeking dedicated individuals for an Apprentice Welder program in Upington. You will learn under skilled welders, gaining practical experience in MIG, TIG and Stick welding while following strict safety protocols.

The apprenticeship emphasizes hands-on training, mentorship, and progression toward qualified welding roles across structural fabrication projects in a dynamic workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent; genuine interest in welding and metal fabrication.
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a team.
• Good physical stamina and manual dexterity for hands-on tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior welders with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding tasks.
• Read fabrication drawings and interpret welding symbols.
• Prepare metal surfaces, clean and grind as needed.
• Perform basic welding operations under supervision.
• Maintain a clean workspace and follow safety regulations.
• Participate in apprenticeship training sessions and coursework.
