Placements24 is seeking an Apprentice Welder/Boilermaker to join a busy workshop in Upington, Northern Cape. This hands-on apprenticeship offers mentorship from experienced welders and a clear path to a trade qualification.

You will learn various welding techniques, read technical drawings, and contribute to fabrication projects in a safety‑driven environment. Successful candidates are motivated, safety‑minded, based in or near Upington, and eager to develop practical and theoretical welding

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• Interest in welding, fabrication and mechanical trades.
• Ability to read technical drawings/blueprints.
• Based in Upington, Northern Cape or willing to relocate/commute.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing metal surfaces for welding and fabrication.
• Learn and practice ARC, MIG, TIG welding under supervision.
• Cut, shape, and assemble metal components from drawings and specs.
• Weld metal parts to create durable structures and products.
• Operate welding equipment and hand/power tools safely.
• Inspect welded joints for quality and integrity to meet standards.
• Support senior welders and boilermakers with workshop tasks.
