Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Inspector Apprentice at our USA location. You will inspect vehicles on receipt, document findings, and perform day-end procedures while following safety standards. This role requires basic computer skills, good communication, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
• Safe driver’s license required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle information based on work order information – identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems by inspecting all customer vehicles at time of receipt (interior, exterior, odometer reading, trunk, engine) and note damage or repairs to frame/paint, engine noise, AC/heater operation, radio, tire condition.
• Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
• Set up system for day-end; perform day-end procedures.
• Maintain knowledge to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
• Write electronic condition reports (ECR).
• Conduct OVE courtesy walk around inspections.
• Maintain knowledge of system capabilities and needed/job-relevant software packages and web-based applications.
• Maintain a working knowledge on improvements and changes concerning body mechanical, frame labor, inspection techniques, etc.
• Demonstrate safety commitment and participate in safety activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
