A leading company in Houston is seeking an Apprentice Technician to maintain and repair cranes. This labor-intensive role requires a commitment to safety and teamwork, with responsibilities including inspections and troubleshooting. The Technician is a heavy equipment mechanic that specializes in maintaining and repairing cranes. This position may perform routine maintenance, such as lubricating parts, and fixing other problems when the crane malfunctions. The Technician works in a safety-first environment. HCSG is a 24/7 service company that requires technicians to be available on-call and provide after-hours or weekend services as needed.
This is labor-intensive work. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally. The role involves climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching overhead, bending, squatting, and standing or sitting for extended periods. Occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling are required. The job requires good hand-eye coordination. Work at heights over 50 feet may be necessary daily. Travel (20-50%) and working various shifts, including on-call and overtime, are expected.
Work may be indoors or outdoors, with exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, heights, fumes, dust, and odors. Summer temperatures can exceed 120°F.
Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check, and submit to random and annual drug testing.
