Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg, VA seeks a Stable Groom to care for horses, carriages, and facilities for the carriage operation. You will work with the Lead Groom, Barn Manager, and Coach Drivers to maintain an historically accurate equine program and safe tours.
Responsibilities include feeding, grooming, harnessing, health monitoring, and assisting with veterinary visits, stable maintenance, and guest questions while supporting a high standard of interpretive programming.

About the Position
The Stable Groom is responsible for the daily care and maintenance of the horses, carriages, and facilities within the carriage operation at Colonial Williamsburg. This role ensures the health and well-being of our historic rare breed horses while supporting the safe and efficient operation of our 10-carriage fleet. The Stable Groom works closely with the Lead Groom, Barn Manager, Coach Drivers, and other team members to maintain a historically accurate and functional equine program that enhances the museum’s interpretive mission.

Must possessa valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record based on The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s criteria.

Compensation Disclaimer: The compensation listed below for this position represents the anticipated hiring range and is provided in accordance with Virginia pay transparency requirements. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as the selected candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and the specific requirements of the role.
Range: $19.00 to $23.00 per hour
