So Others Might Eat/ SOME is looking for an Apprentice/Service Technician I in Washington, DC to perform preventive and corrective maintenance at our facilities. Candidates should have a background in building maintenance and the ability to utilize their own vehicle and tools for work.
The role includes various responsibilities such as carpentry, plumbing, safety inspections, and more, with a weekly schedule from Tuesday to Saturday.
Compensation ranges from $19.46 to $20.58 per hour, depending on experience.

Apprentice/Service Technician I (Facilities Management)
Hourly range: $19.46 to $20.58, commensurate with experience.
The Apprentice/Service Technician I, under the direction and guidance of the Service Technician III, will perform preventive and corrective maintenance at SOME-owned facilities.
Tuesday - Saturday, 9:30 am – 6:00 pm (40 hours per week); On‑Call responsibilities twice per quarter are required.
Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, stretch, walk, climb, sit, type on a keyboard, and lift to 75 pounds with the assistance of a dolly or staff. Must be able to climb step ladders 14 feet in height. Must be able to climb extension ladder and scaffolds up to 50 feet in height. All duties are performed with door without reasonable accommodations. Travel to work sites using your own transportation methods. Utilize your own tools for work projects and transport tools to the work site.
Uniform provided. Safety equipment must be utilized, including safety glasses, gloves, and other protective garments as necessary. Proper footwear, including steel‑toed shoes. Employees must possess and use their own basic tools to perform job duties.
