Job summary

Lockhart Independent School District is seeking an Apprentice Plumber to maintain, repair, and install plumbing systems across district facilities. Under general supervision, you will ensure safe operation of fixtures and systems, read blueprints, and assist licensed plumbers.

Requirements include Texas Plumbing Apprentice license or ability to obtain within 90 days, valid Texas driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, and 1–3 years’ related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: Valid Plumbing Apprentice license from the State of Texas or able to obtain one 90 days of hire.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record
• High school diploma or GED
• May be required to successfully complete job ability testing
• Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to learn local plumbing codes
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install plumbing systems, services, and equipment for the district.
• Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing fixtures and systems in district facilities.
• Coordinate repairs and installations with other crafts and building staff to minimize interruptions in service.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed.
• Work various shifts, including weekends, evenings, and long days on short notice.
