Job summary

South Texas College is seeking a Plumber – Apprentice to support the Facilities Operations and Maintenance team. Under supervision, you will assist in installing, maintaining, repairing plumbing systems and responding to routine maintenance and emergency repairs.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least one year in plumbing, good communication and computer skills, and the ability to read blueprints and work from job orders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year related plumbing experience preferred.
• Strong communication and computer skills (MS Office).
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, maintaining, repairing plumbing systems and components.
• Operate and perform routine preventive maintenance on plumbing equipment.
• Assist in repairing hot water systems, valves, pumps and gas distribution components.
• Use CMMS to document work requests and time spent.
• Follow safety regulations and department procedures.
