Job summary

Kimbel Mechanical Systems, LLC is hiring an Apprentice Plumber to learn under journeyman plumbers, installing, modifying, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining plumbing fixtures in gas, water, and drainage systems according to code. The program aims to earn a journeyman license so you can train others.

You will read blueprints, manage multiple projects, and collaborate with contractors while building foundational field skills, safety practices, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Excellent communication with team and contractors.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing concepts and safety.
• Ability to work 6 AM–5 PM Mon–Fri with occasional Saturdays.

Apprentice Plumber

As an apprentice plumber, you will play a crucial role in the success of our projects. While working under the guidance of journeyman plumbers, you will learn to install, modify, inspect, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures in gas, water, and drainage systems according to applicable building codes for either single family residential or multifamily housing. The purpose of your apprenticeship is to earn your journeyman license so you can then teach apprentice plumbers the trade.

• Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects, typically up to 50-75 lbs independently
• Mobility and Agility: Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces (like crawlspaces or attics), and kneeling or crouching for extended periods
• Manual Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small tools and components with precision
• Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for the duration of an 8-12 hour shift, often in varying weather conditions or non-climate-controlled environments
