Job summary

Kimbel Mechanical Systems is hiring a Licensed Plumber in Wichita, KS to lead plumbing projects, inspect, repair, and maintain fixtures in water, gas, and drainage systems. You will work with apprentices and crews, reading blueprints and ensuring code compliance under UPC and local amendments.

Responsibilities include on-site leadership, safety compliance, and timely, quality workmanship while collaborating with supervisors and customers across the Greater Wichita area.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of verified plumbing experience.
• Active Journeyman Plumbing License or Master Plumbing License issued or recognized by City of Wichita / Sedgwick County MABCD (or transferable license with ICC/Prometric reciprocity).
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Collaborative attitude and team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to successfully pass a DOT Physical and Drug Screen.

Licensed Plumber - Wichita, KS

Purpose:

The purpose of a Licensed Plumber is to install, inspect, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures in water, gas, and drainage systems according to local Sedgwick County/Wichita trade standards, local amendments, and building codes, working with little to no supervision alongside a team of apprentices.

Responsibilities:

• Lead jobs, crews, projects, and apprentice plumbers on job sites throughout the Greater Wichita area.

• Install, inspect, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures in water, gas, and drainage systems in compliance with the Universal Plumbing Code (UPC) and City of Wichita / Sedgwick County local plumbing code amendments.

• Identify safety problems applicable to the installation and take necessary corrective action.

• Read blueprints, follow supervisor and/or contractor instructions, and complete quality control sheets accurately.

• Make authoritative decisions on the job site without disruption to business operations, job timelines, or work quality.

• Manual Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small tools and components with precision.

• Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for the duration of an 8–12 hour shift, often in varying Kansas weather conditions or non-climate-controlled environments.
