Job Summary

Our Meat Cutter Apprentices ensure that our guests receive the best and most delicious products, presented according to their requirements. In addition to providing unparalleled guest service and supporting the Meat Lead, you'll ensure that our offerings and services promote guest loyalty, growth, and success for the store. As a member of our Meat Team, your primary responsibility will be to cut meat and other products for sale, ensuring our customers receive the freshest products possible. You will create and maintain an exemplary customer service environment to build lifelong relationships by understanding and exceeding customer needs. To thrive in this position, you should be a team player who supports colleagues' success, is eager to grow into leadership roles, and can inspire those around you.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Prior experience in the field or related field
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Education Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent; Vocational/Technical
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Learn to cut meat for sale by removing products from the cooler and cutting into smaller sizes for packaging.
• Learn to make ground meat using the grinder and tray.
• Accurately record and assist in preparing special orders to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist in maintaining the efficiency of meat coolers and freezers by unloading deliveries.
• Learn all aspects of code dating.
• Follow proper procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Wrap meat and maintain the meat case.
• Rotate and check code dates on products to ensure guest safety.
• Provide products and services that meet internal and external customer requirements, adhering to the company's guiding principles and service standards.
• Maintain safety as the top priority in all work aspects for team members, guests, and products.
• Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers, ensuring their orders meet expectations, and making suggestions to enhance their shopping experience.
• Share food knowledge with team members and customers, demonstrating a commitment to learning about food.
• Learn and retain current work methods.
• Handle products and equipment properly, following food safety and safety guidelines.
• Use suggestive selling techniques effectively.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, utensils, tables, floors, and sanitation areas.
