Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking an Apprentice Lineman A (APA) to join our team. This entry-level role involves constructing and repairing electrical overhead distribution systems, working with energized and de-energized lines, and traveling to various job sites as needed. You will report to the Foreman and work on safety-first practices.

The position requires CDL, willingness to travel, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Outages, storms, and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of field experience or equivalent.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays, and emergencies.
• Perform live-line work using approved techniques and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance and repair of overhead distribution systems.
• Help install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators and conductors.
• Climb structures using approved methods and equipment.
• Work at heights and near energized equipment.
• Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks and other line equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and environments.
• Be available for outages, storms and on-call rotations.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE use.
