Job summary

Pike Electric LLC in Summit, NJ is seeking an Apprentice Lineman A (APA) for entry-level line work to build and repair overhead distribution systems. You will work on energized and de-energized lines and may travel to out-of-state sites as needed, reporting to the Foreman.

Responsibilities include constructing and maintaining lines, climbing structures, operating bucket trucks and other equipment, and performing live-line work with proper PPE and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of relevant field experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair overhead distribution systems while prioritizing safety.
• Help install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Climb different structures using approved methods and equipment.
• Operate and maintain bucket trucks and other overhead line equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and contribute to emergency callouts.
• Perform live-line work using approved techniques and troubleshoot faults.
