Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking an Apprentice B Lineman to start a rewarding career in building and maintaining the power grid. You will report to the Foreman and perform essential field duties while focusing on safety and readiness for outages and storms.

The role involves outdoor work, physical labor, and the potential for travel to different job sites. Training and progression opportunities accompany a strong safety culture at Pike.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair de-energized powerlines with safety first.
• Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Perform rigorous physical labor and lift heavy tools and equipment.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Work outdoors in varying conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, storms).
• Be available for outages, storms, emergencies, and on-call rotation.
• Inspect PPE and rubber goods and follow safety protocols.
