Job summary

The State of Ohio, Administrative Services, is seeking an IT Application Security & Infrastructure Operations Apprentice in Columbus. This hands-on role develops foundational skills in systems administration, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and technical documentation while supporting security compliance and operational automation.

You will monitor environments, assist with vulnerability remediation, automate routine tasks with scripting, and help maintain SOPs and asset inventories.

Qualifications

• 1 course or 2 months of experience in Information Systems/IT or related field.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
• Basic understanding of IT concepts and networking.

Responsibilities

• Support cybersecurity monitoring and remediation efforts.
• Assist in automation of routine administrative tasks through scripting.
• Develop and maintain basic automation scripts under guidance.
• Review and update SOPs and maintain documentation.
• Document server inventories and asset management.
