Job summary

Hulcher Services Inc. seeks an Apprentice Operator I to transport, operate and service heavy equipment used in clearing railroad derailments. The role includes lifting and moving derailed cars and locomotives, with exposure to heights and demanding physical work.

You will drive and support the Response Team, perform inspections, and assist in maintenance, with travel up to 50% and 24/7 on-call commitments as part of emergency response operations.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with no restrictions (required).
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Flexible on-call availability 24/7 and 365 days a year.
• Must travel up to 50% of the time as part of the role.
• Maintenance inspections of equipment and readiness.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer or escort vehicles.
• Perform material handling of heavy gear and cables.
• Climb on and under derailed railroad cars for service.
• Maintain and set up equipment, including welding or torch use.
• Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting.
• Work at heights over 25 feet on railroad cars.
