Job summary

Hulcher Services is seeking a motivated Apprentice Operator I to transport, operate and service heavy equipment used in clearing railroad derailments. You’ll lift and move derailed cars and locomotives, perform inspections and maintenance, and work across challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL with NO restrictions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work on-call 24/7/365 in an emergency response environment.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Ability to conduct maintenance inspections on equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer or escort vehicles.
• Operate and service heavy equipment used for derailments.
• Handle materials such as chains, blocks and cables.
• Climb on/off derailed railroad cars and perform maintenance tasks.
• Work safely at heights and in varied environments.
