Job summary

Able Engineering Services is seeking an Apprentice Engineer to participate in the Apprenticeship Program, assisting with routine maintenance and repairs to building and grounds under supervision.

You will learn to handle HVAC, electrical, plumbing tasks, coordinate parts, document activities, and contribute to safety plans while working with Chief Engineer and assistants.

This hands-on role emphasizes learning, teamwork, and commitment to quality service for tenants and staff.

Qualifications

• Successfully qualifies for approved Apprenticeship Program.
• Successfully completes all milestones of Apprenticeship Program.

Responsibilities

• Observe a specific task assigned to a Journeyman Engineer and perform it under supervision.
• Perform tasks under the direction of the Journeyman Engineer until mastery is achieved.
• Under the Chief Engineer's supervision, confirm mastery of tasks before performing with little supervision.
• Maintain and clean mechanical, electrical, and shop areas as needed.
• Coordinate parts, supplies, and equipment from local vendors and inventory.
• Assist in repairs to buildings, utilities, grounds and equipment under journeyman guidance.
• Support optimization of repair and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems and document activities.
• Contribute to energy conservation and continuous improvement of engineering functions.
• Record pertinent data in building logbooks and complete daily entries.
