Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Estimator in Training to learn how to diagnose and prepare repair estimates in alignment with insurance partner guidelines. You will work closely with a senior estimator to ensure accurate, profitable estimates and communicate value to customers, supporting a high closed sales ratio.

Key responsibilities include mapping damage, preparing parts lists, updating customers, and coordinating with repair teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Must complete 16 I-CAR units within 12 months of employment.
• Preferred: 4–6 years related work experience; photo-imaging software experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW plan.
• Greet customer at repair drop off and build rapport.
• Map damage with customer and document opportunities.
• Take initial photographs and upload photos and notes to CCC One with arrival time.
• Notify production that vehicle arrived and place in production queue; verify estimate during teardown.
• Finalize estimate using the Repair Planning Template.
• Coordinate with repair team to ensure windshield notations are correct and complete; assemble parts list.
• Set promise date using Promise Date Calculator and review estimate with customer.
• Provide regular updates to customer per management standards.
• Attend and contribute to production meetings.
• Call customers about next-day completions and schedule accordingly.
• Follow up with technicians after tear down and adjust estimates as needed.
• Assist insurance adjusters with damage reports and re-inspection processes.
