This hands-on position combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction in a three-year, in-house certificate program. Responsibilities

  • Work on the plating shop floor to learn required tasks.
  • Attend apprenticeship classes on site.
  • Manage plating lines: setup, maintenance, inspection, and packing for shipping.
  • Minimize setup and maintenance time.
  • Maintain job tracking system and inventory records.
  • Follow safety and quality plans.
  • Review production schedule to estimate order requirements.
  • Rotate weekly among daylight, afternoon, and midnight shifts.

Apprentice Electroplating Technician


Penn United Technologies, Inc. is actively hiring for a full-time Apprentice Electroplating Technician for our expanding Plating facility. This hands-on position combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction in this three-year, in-house certificate program providing a unique opportunity to build a rewarding career in precision manufacturing.

This role requires the ability to rotate weekly among daylight, afternoon, and midnight shifts, with a 10% shift premium for non-daylight shifts.


What You'll Do:


  • Work on the plating shop floor in order to learn required job tasks

  • Regularly attend apprenticeship classes held on site

  • Manage the activities of the plating parts, including setup and maintenance of the lines, plating and inspection of the parts, and the preparation of parts for shipping.

  • Strive to keep setup and maintenance time to a minimum

  • Maintain job tracking system

  • Ensure that chemical inventories are adequately maintained at all times and that orders are properly filed

  • Follow all safety and quality plans

  • Study the production schedule and estimate the requirements for completing an order efficiently and effectively

  • Rotate, on a weekly basis, from daylight, afternoon and midnight shifts
