Job summary

Pacific Northern Environmental LLC seeks an Apprentice Electrician to assist journeymen in commercial and industrial electrical installations. You will learn by doing, follow blueprints, and perform tasks under supervision while maintaining safety and documentation.

Position requires enrollment in Idaho-approved apprenticeship, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel as needed. OSHA standards and DOT requirements may apply; strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License required and eligible for company insurance policy.
• Enrolled in Idaho approved apprenticeship program.
• Experience in electrical/industrial field preferred but not required.
• First Aid certification preferred.
• Facial hair standards per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.34 may apply.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as required for job duties.
• Learn from Journeyman Electrician and complete assigned duties.
• Assist with installation of electrical systems per blueprints, construction drawings, and NEC codes in commercial buildings and industrial settings.
• Pull wire, install conduit, lighting systems, panels, and other electrical components according to project specs under direction of a Journeyman.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and site plans under guidance.
• Record updated work logs and client accounts, and handle other administrative duties.
• Communicate with clients in a professional, courteous manner at all times.
• Coordinate tasks with other trades and subcontractors in a fast-paced environment.
• Attend safety briefings and site meetings as required.
• Respond to direction from Foreman, Journeymen, and Project Managers.

Education and Experience Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License is required and must meet eligibility requirements to be covered under the company’s vehicle insurance policy.
• Enrolled in an Idaho approved apprenticeship program
• Any previous experience working in an electrical or industrial related field is preferred, not required.
• Current First Aid certification preferred.
• May be required to meet facial hair standards in accordance with OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard (29 CFR 1910.34).

Duties and Responsibilities

The Apprentice Electrician possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following:

• Safely operate and maintain company vehicles as required for job duties, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
• Learn from Journeyman Electrician and completes all assigned duties.
• Assists with installation of electrical systems per blueprints, construction drawings, and NEC codes in commercial buildings and industrial
• Pull wire, install conduit, lighting systems, panels, and other electrical components according to project specs and under the direction of a Journeyman.
• Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and assist with repairs of equipment and electrical faults.
• Learn and apply safe work practices, following site-specific and company safety requirements, including lockout/tagout, PPE protocols, etc.
• Travels out to various public and private spaces to assist the Journeyman Electrician, maintaining job site organization, cleanliness, and tool accountability
• Read and interpret blueprints schematics and site plans under guidance.
• Record update work logs, clients' accounts, and handles other administrative duties.
• Communicate with clients in a professional, courteous manner at all times.
• Coordinate tasks and work alongside other trades and subcontractors in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment
• Attend safety briefings and site meetings as required.
• Respond to direction from Foreman, Journeymen, and Project Managers.
• Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
• Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
• Respectfully takes direction from the manager
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:

• Move about the jobsite.
• Move work related equipment up to 50lbs.
• Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
• Operate various technological devices, including a computer and cell phone.
• Occasionally ascend/descend ladders and/or stairs, working at heights and operating lifts as needed
• Must be open to traveling approximately 25%, however travel may not always be required. Some overnight stays may be required per customer needs (company pays for accommodation and per diem).
• Perform duties in an industrial and/or construction environment, where noise levels are high at times and may involve confined spaces.
• 4-10s working schedule, Fridays/Weekends as necessary
• Must be able to successfully complete and maintain a valid DOT physical examination/med card, including baseline and annual/periodic recertification, as required for the role.
• Must be able to successfully complete baseline and annual/periodic audiometric testing as a condition of employment
