Western Industrial Resources Corporation (WIRC) is seeking a Journeyman Electrician for commercial and industrial construction at our Apache Junction, AZ location. This on-site, full-time role involves installing wiring, transformers, switchgear, and data cabling, reading blueprints, and adhering to NEC and site safety requirements.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of C/I electrical experience, a valid Journeyman license, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Essential Functions

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including wiring, transformers, switchgear, motors, and related components
  • Independently bend and install EMT, rigid, and PVC conduit to specification
  • Install, pull, terminate, and test power, control, and low-voltage cabling, including CAT6 and data systems
  • Perform electrical terminations, equipment hookups, and device installations
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions without unnecessary escalation
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to execute accurate installations
  • Perform all work in compliance with NEC standards, local codes, and site-specific safety requirements
  • Identify unsafe conditions or installation issues and correct them proactively
  • Coordinate with other trades, contractors, and supervision to maintain production schedules
  • Train and mentor apprentices by setting expectations and demonstrating proper methods
  • Accurately document work performed and materials used based on project and performance expectations
  • Maintain required tools and comply with company tool and equipment policies

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification required
  • Four or more years of commercial and or industrial electrical experience
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to perform assigned work independently and without constant supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong conduit bending and electrical troubleshooting capability
  • Experience leading small tasks or directing apprentices
  • Working knowledge of NEC Chapters 1 through 9
  • Experience in both commercial and industrial environments
  • Equivalent combinations of education, certification, and experience will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, NEC requirements, and safety protocols
  • Ability to complete electrical installations from prints, work orders, or verbal direction
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common field issues independently
  • Ability to mentor apprentices while maintaining jobsite discipline and productivity
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights or in confined spaces
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with crew members and supervision

Schedule and Working Conditions

  • Non-union position
  • Variable schedules based on project needs
  • Typical workload approximately 40-50 hours per week
  • Overtime available, including nights and weekends when required
  • Travel required, approximately 50 to 75 percent depending on project location
  • Per diem provided when eligibility requirements are met
  • Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement may be available

Safety Requirements

  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or MSHA as required by project
  • Site-specific safety training
  • Drug testing may be required based on client or site requirements
